Romania is characterized by a variety of instances of energy poverty. Whereas national analyses display important regional differences in these manifestations and in the availability of programmes of redress, there are important contrasts in the residential sector between the urban and the rural localities, each displaying specific challenges. This policy brief is aimed at displaying a number of energy poverty challenges characteristic of the rural context in Romania.
