This chapter offers an analysis of the evolution of the PD/PD-L, arguing that in the 2000’s the party has acquired a catch-all profile. I examine a number of structural, external, institutional and political factors favoring the emergence of a catch-all party, and argue that the PD-L was in the best position to take advantage of them.
